History of Madan Mahal Fort or Rani Durgavati Fort
Madan Mahal Fort was built by Raja Madan Singh in around 1100 AD. This fort was used as a watch tower of the army. Madan Mahal Fort is built by carving a big granite rock. This fort is situated at a height of 500 meters. The fort is also associated with the king’s mother Rani Durgavati, who is known as a brave Gond queen. This fort is also named after Queen Durgavati.
Madan Mahal Fort is situated on the top of a huge granite hill. There are many buildings built in this palace complex, out of which the main palace is situated on a huge rock which is known as Madan Mahal.
